"El Buen Barrio" reimagines a Latin American barrio as a peaceful, joyful, and safe haven. This visual exploration portrays an idealized environment where life flourishes, showcasing colorful murals and tightly clustered houses that embody the interconnected nature of urban life in Latin America, fostering a sense of community and harmony.
"El Buen Barrio" contrasts the often harsh realities and perceptions of violence and insecurity associated with many neighborhoods in Latin America. Through its serene and utopian depiction, the animation expresses a longing for liveable, thriving communities—where peace and safety reign.
The piece allowed me to delve into environment design, experimenting with lighting, texturing, and character animation. By combining Mixamo’s animations with handmade animation, I was able to breathe life into the scene, adding subtle movements that enhance its immersive quality.
This work is both a personal reflection and an artistic expression, inviting viewers to dream of a better future for these vital spaces.

For the final assignment in the School of Motion’s Cinema 4D Ascent course, the task involved creating an animated piece to promote the fictional task-tracking app, Concrastin8, for the imaginary client Mombi. Guided by the provided voice-over and storyboards, I aimed to deliver something colorful and engaging.
Although I’ve been working with Cinema 4D for years, this course provided an opportunity to push my skills further, continue learning, and refresh my toolkit.
